The State of New Jersey has the third-highest population of Asian Americans behind only Hawaii and California, according to a 2019 report by Jersey Promise, an organization that serves the Asian American community by building understanding of the state’s diverse communities and identifying top policy priorities. The report also cites a 95% increase of Asian Americans in New Jersey from 2000 to 2017, making it the fastest growing racial group in the state.

“Asian Americans are an integral part of our community. The CCPO will not tolerate any form of bias crime and stands in solidarity with our Asian community during this unsettling time,” said Mayer.
