NEWARK TEAMS UP TO PROVIDE HOUSING FOR HOMELESS


The city of Newark has accepted five housing proposals for the homeless population, including services for veterans, LGBTQ+ people, and people with special needs. The program will create 100 housing units, ranging from transitional to permanent. “It has long been my vision to provide our residents without addresses with decent, livable, and supportive housing, so that they can gain personal independence,” Mayor Ras Baraka said. The third case of the coronavirus variant that was first observed in the U.K. (B.1.1.7) was reported in Trenton this weekend.
