Police Need Help Identifying / Locating Driver Involved in Camden City Hit-and-Run

Camden City, N.J. (January 28, 2021)– Detectives are asking for the public’s help identifying and locating the driver involved in a Jan. 27 fatal hit-and-run in Camden, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.
Police responded to the 2600 block of Mt. Ephraim Ave. shortly before 10 p.m. for a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. When they arrived, they located a man suffering from injuries to the head.
The victim, identified as Lawrence Lloyd, 46, of Camden, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead around 10:30 p.m.
A witness told officers the driver who hit Lloyd drove off after the incident.
Through the investigation, detectives collected evidence and surveillance footage that indicates the vehicle involved is possibly a 2001-2006 Mazda Tribute or a 2001 to 2007 Ford Escape. The vehicle involved might have damage to the front and driver’s side.
