Photo Released of Person of Interest Wanted for Questioning About Murder of Officer Sicknick

WASHINGTON, DC (January 12, 2021)--The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Washington DC Office, released a photo today of a person of interest who may be involved in the murder of US Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick. The officer died last week trying to block protestors from entering the Capitol Building in DC.
The man in the photo is an older man, with a grey beard wearing a blue knit cap with the letters 'CFD' stitched on it.
Officer Sicknick, who is a native of New Jersey died on Thursday night, January 7 in the hospital. It is alleged that he was hit in the head by a fire extinguisher as he and other officers confronted hundreds of protestors who had attended the Trump rally not far from the Capitol Building on January 6.
The FBI has asked anyone who may recognize the man in the photo to contact investigators immediately.
