James J. Martin, III, of Cherry Hill, 78

 

On January 25, 2021, age 78. Of Cherry Hill. Loving and devoted husband of 54 years to Carol Martin (nee Oskiera). Loving father of Lisa Dragani and her husband Vincent and Patricia Roder and her husband, John. Cherished “Poppy” to his seven grandchildren, Thomas, Alex, Taylor, Jack, Caitlin, Riley and John and his great-grandson, Jameson.  Predeceased by his 7334243_fbsbeloved son, James J. Martin, IV; his parents, James J. Martin Jr. and Helen Fischman Martin; and his sister, Kathleen Tallman (surviving Ralph). Also survived by his brother-in-laws, Kenneth & Robert Oskiera as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

James was a graduate of Bishop Eustace Preparatory School class of 1960. He went on to study at Temple University before taking ownership of the family business, James J. Martin & Sons Drywall Contractors. He retired in 2012. James was the past president of the Interior Finishing Contractors Association. He was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan and an avid skier, reader and “foodie”. His greatest love was attending all the various sporting events and activities of his grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 11 AM at Holy Eucharist Church, 344 Kresson Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. Family and friends are asked to arrive at church by 10:45 AM and be seated for Mass. There will be no viewing, visitation or receiving line. Interment will be private.
