New Wiring and Utility Poles for Riverview Hts. Area

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (December 2, 2020)--The contractor installing new utility poles and wiring in the Riverview Heights section of Gloucester City was back at work today. There were several times during the day that traffic was blocked on one of the many side streets in the area. At one point residents had no electricity while the workers transferred the wiring from the old poles to the new ones.

The weekend event was held in Millville on November 20, 2007. Alumni members from the Class of 1960, Class of 1961, Class of 1962, Class of 1963 and 1964 were in attendance.

Gloucester City: Rock and Roll Festival

JUNE 21, 2008, time 12 Noon The second day of Gloucester City’s Rock and Roll Revival weekend kicked off today Saturday at 11 AM. The Festival, which concludes tonight at 7 PM, is being held along Broadway from the corner of Broadway & Market to Cumberland Street. The Festival features ALL DAY entertainment — car show, dance off, children’s entertainment, craft and food vendors, a beer garden, and more. The beer garden is in front of Jack’s Twin Bar, Broadway and Market Street. There is a cover charge of $5 and beer cost $3 a bottle. The Gloucester City Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ) is sponsoring the event which cost the UEZ estimated $50,000. This is the second year it has been held.

Gloucester City Middle School Opening Day

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (CNBNewsnet)--The Gloucester City Middle School, 500 unit block of Market Street, Gloucester City opened on Tuesday, September 5, 2017. The $87 million school will house an estimated 685 students from grade 4 up to grade 8. The new 122,000 square-foot school includes 27 general classrooms, eight special education classrooms, three science classrooms, a cafetorium with stage, gymnasium, media center, computer lab and administrative offices. Graffiti in Gloucester City

Graffiti is becoming a problem in the City of Gloucester City NJ. The 40 plus photos were taken by resident Bill Waters in August 2008. Mr. Waters is asking people to call police and report anyone who they see painting graffiti in our community. "Take a moment to get involved. Help stop this problem before it becomes too late."
