Frank Crosson, Long Time Deacon at St. Mary's Parish, Past Police Officer/Criminal Investigator

Bellmawr and Formerly of Gloucester City – On December 18, 2020. Age 81. Survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Maryann Crosson (nee Ott). Frank was surrounded at death by his loving family.
Loving father of Jill (Bruce) Darrow and loving grandsons Brett, Austin, Angel, Chris and Ron. Loving Father of Janeen (Chris) Coughlin and loving grandchildren Kylar and Aidan Coughlin. Dear Brother of Margaret (late Gilbert) Rossiter. Dear brother-in-law of Annamae Matyasik, Alice (Jim) Mendell, Gerri Johnson and the late Norma Kuder. Survived by many nieces and nephews.
Frank was known to many as Butch and was born in Gloucester City. He attended Gloucester Catholic High School but graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1959. He entered the
U.S. Air Force Reserves, Air Rescue Unit on September 7, 1961, and was discharged August 15, 1967. Frank was a member of the Gloucester City Police Department and the Washington Township Police Department. He retired as a Sergeant in 1990. Frank worked as an Investigator with the State of New Jersey: Department of Criminal Justice and retired in 2014. Frank was a devoted Roman Catholic and a lifelong parishioner of Saint Mary’s R.C. Church. He entered the Diaconate in the Diocese of Camden and was ordained a Permanent Deacon in 1997. Frank served his home parish, St. Mary’s for his entire time as a Deacon. He was a member of the Gloucester City Knights of Columbus Council # 674. Frank was devoted to his family, coaching his daughters in softball and always watching the grandchildren at their sporting events. He always had a smile on his face. Frank had a big heart and was always willing to help someone in need. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Deacon Frank’s viewing on Monday, December 21 from 9 am to 11 am at Saint Mary’s R.C. Church: 426 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 am in the church. Cremation private. Inurnment private in New Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr. Face Masks and Social Distancing are required in church. Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on St. Mary’s Church Gloucester City Facebook Page.
