Gloucester City – On Christmas Eve, December 24, 2020. Age 73. Beloved husband of 51 years to Sharon D. (nee Billingham). Cherished father of Donald Jr. (Kelly), Shanie (Danny), Kyle Sr. (Agnieszka). Devoted grandfather of Kayla, Kaitlyn, Kyle Jr., Serena, Sydney, Donovan. Beloved brother of John (Linda), Identical Twin Ron (Rosetta) and Ed (Anne). Survived by former daughter-in-law Kelly (West) Abele. Predeceased by his parents, William and Florence Abele, his siblings, Vesta Reineck, William Jr., Mary Hunter and his father and mother-in-law, William and Mary Wilke. Survived by his many brothers and sisters in law and many nieces and nephews.
Donald was born in Philadelphia, PA. He was a life member and dedicated volunteer of the Gloucester City Fire Department Station # 51 from 1977-2005 retiring as Battalion Chief. He loved camping, hunting and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, at the request of the family, cremation is private and there are no memorial services planned at this time.
