Beginning at 1 a.m. Monday, December 7, the developer’s contractor, R.E. Pierson Construction Co., is scheduled to shift Route 322 eastbound traffic onto the newly-constructed roadway beginning near the Route 130 interchange in Logan Township.  At approximately 3:30 a.m., Route 322 westbound traffic will be shifted onto the newly-constructed roadway beginning near the I-295 interchange.  Motorists should expect brief slowdowns and delays while the shifts are taking place.

By 6 a.m., all eastbound and westbound traffic will be shifted onto the new roadway, which was built parallel to the existing lanes.  This shift will allow the contractor to reconstruct the original two lane roadway.  This traffic pattern is anticipated to remain in place until spring 2021.

The project is improving a 1.2 mile section of Route 322 between Route 130 and I-295 in Logan Township, Gloucester County.  The original roadway features one lane in each direction, with three foot shoulders.  The new roadway will feature two lanes in each direction, with upgraded 12-foot shoulders.  It will also upgraded traffic signals and improved access to local businesses.  The project is anticipated to be complete in spring 2021.

Variable Message Signs are being used to provide advance notification of all traffic pattern changes associated with the work.NJDOT will provide more information before any lane closures are scheduled.

The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
