Avalon's 2021 Beach Tag Released

Seasonal Beach Tag Art Award Winner–Cynthia Sakoulas

AVALON, NJ--The official art work for the Avalon 2021 seasonal beach tag was announced on Friday, December 18th.  The winner of this year’s beach tag art contest is Avalon Elementary School 8th grader Cynthia Sakoulas, who’s art will appear on all of the seasonal beach tags sold in Avalon, starting next spring, for the summer 2021 beach season.

For 23 years, the Avalon Elementary School has held a contest to encourage students to create the art work that will appear on the following year’s beach tag.  The presentation was made by Avalon Council President John McCorristin.  As a thank you, Cynthia was presented with a plaque from Mayor Martin Pagliughi, the very first beach tag of the 2021 season, and a collection of collectible pins that feature her art work.

A canvas rendering of Cynthia’s beach tag will be added to the Beach Tag Wall at the entrance of Avalon Borough Hall where all of the beach tag art from prior years are also displayed.

Our entire community congratulates Cynthia for her art work, and her achievement!
