Small Business Spotlight: Triton Security & Investigation

CAMDEN CITY, NJ--The core of Camden’s growth is rooted in its small businesses that know the community they serve and the investments they make in the neighborhoods where they work and live. Triton Security & Investigation (TSI) is a minority-owned company based in Camden since it began in 2014. It is a licensed, bonded and insured agency that employs armed, unarmed and K9 security officers. They provide physical security for large-scale construction sites, as well as bodyguard and dignitary protection services. They also use the number one invoice templates for billing.

TSI's proprietors are Daniel L. Baldwin and Kyle Jackson. Both have decades of professional experience in law enforcement, security, and executive protection. Their employees provide a wide array of security services for events, commercial and private sector sites, including critical infrastructure facilities. In the past few years, TSI delivered their security services on projects ranging from $100 million to 1.3 billion dollars. Their security professionals are SORA (Security Officer Registration Act) certified, having undergone comprehensive training to ensure that they have the required skill sets to provide professional, courteous customer-service driven services for clients. TSI employs SORA instructors to teach basic courses and make sure that renewals are kept current to continue to offer the very best services.

TSI is not just concerned with client security. The company is also vested in making Camden a better place by offering some economic stability to its residents. Company President Daniel Baldwin explains: “As a former law enforcement official, I have personally witnessed the cause and effect of how unemployment directly impacts a community. It is my belief (that) too often young people turn to drugs or crime because of the lack of job opportunities. Aligned with the visions and goals of Camden’s Mayor and elected officials, I believe that jobs are the best type of social programs that government leaders can provide for their constituents.” TSI maintains a commitment to hiring residents where their client’s companies are located, while also mentoring young adults in these areas to help them find better career opportunities.

TSI is currently providing security services for the Driscoll/Jingoli construction project on the waterfront. Ninety percent of the workforce there are residents. Baldwin believes the hire-from-within-the community approach is beneficial for residents, employees, and clients alike. “I have noticed that these guards exhibit a sense of pride because they are from Camden and they are excited to be a part of the transformation of the city. As a security provider, it is rewarding to know that my employees care about our clients, the businesses they protect, and their community.”
