MVC Employees Continual COVID Illnesses Keep Licensing Centers Closed

West Deptford MVC Center Closed, Wayne MVC Center Closure Extended

TRENTON – The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission has announced that the West Deptford Regional/Licensing Center has been closed, due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19, and the current closure of the Wayne Licensing Center has been extended.

The West Deptford Regional/Licensing Center will reopen Thursday, Dec. 3. The employee who tested positive was last in the West Deptford Center on Wednesday, Nov. 18.

The closure of the Wayne Licensing Center has been extended to Friday, Dec. 4, as an additional Wayne employee tested positive for COVID-19, requiring a revised timetable for necessary staff quarantines.

Road test operations and inspection stations remain open at West Deptford and Wayne, as those facilities are separate from both MVC Centers.

In addition to West Deptford and Wayne, six other MVC Centers remain closed due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19 at each location. These Centers are scheduled to reopen on the following dates:

  • Wallington Vehicle Center – reopens Wednesday, Nov. 25
  • Bayonne Licensing Center – reopens Wednesday, Nov. 25
  • Lakewood Vehicle Center – reopens Saturday, Nov. 28
  • Flemington Licensing Center – reopens Monday, Nov. 30
  • Delanco Licensing Center – reopens Monday, Nov. 30
  • Lodi Licensing Center – reopens Thursday, Dec. 3

The Rahway Licensing Center will be reopening tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 24, following the closing of quarantine and full COVID-19 cleaning.

Customers also are reminded that all MVC facilities, including agencies, road testing sites, and inspection stations, will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26, for the Thanksgiving holiday. MVC facilities will be open for regular business Friday, Nov. 27, and Saturday, Nov. 28.

Customers should log on to NJMVC.gov before heading out to a facility for the latest updates on MVC operations and locations, to complete online transactions like license and registration renewals, and to make appointments for select license and vehicle transactions.
