WILLIAMSPORT PA (October 4, 2020)--Robert M. Medlar, 50, of Mt. Ephraim NJ was in Lycoming County District Court, Thursday, October 1,  for a preliminary hearing regarding charges that he allegedly forced himself sexually on a woman in a Williamsport Hotel, on July 4.

According to PennLive, the 21-year-old victim was the only witness in the preliminary hearing before Lycoming County District Judge Aaron S. Biichle.

The woman, who also was in Williamsport for a July 4th softball tournament, testified she was asleep about 7 a.m. when Medlar awoke her and got on top of her in her bed.

Despite telling him “no” he kissed her, touched her inappropriately, and digitally penetrated her, she said. She went into the bathroom and when she came out he still was there and pinned her between the bed and a wall, she said.

Under cross-examination, she said Medlar had the key to her room because he had consented to wake up several females to make sure they got to the field in time for their games.

Medlar was vice president of the New Jersey Division of Pitbulls Softball, which had four teams in the tournament. The victim was not a player.

The suspect was bound over Thursday on charges of attempted sexual assault, aggravated indecent and indecent assault, and indecent exposure. He remains free after posting 10 percent of the $125,000 bail.
