Lions take Homecoming 42 - 0

(CNBNews)-GLOUCESTER CITY NJ--The Pitman Panthers entered J.A. Lynch Stadium in front of a pandemic Homecoming crowd of around 500 fans. The local Lions weren't very hospitable to the visiting Pitman Panthers scoring 35 first-half points and invoking the running clock rule to start the second half.

Early scoring by the Lions Steven Burkhardt (2 Tds) and the onslaught of Kyrin Nelson who scored 4 times on runs of 12, 55, 15 and 15 yards ended any hopes of the Panthers taking home a victory.

Nelson carried 8 times for 120 yds and four touchdowns, while workhorse Burkhardt, currently listed in the States Top 10 rushers, rushed for 95 yards on 13 carries. QB Adrian Delgado completed 3 passes for 40 yards. With the win the Lions improved to 4-o. Next up for the Lions a trip to Sterling HS, Friday 10/30, 7 PM

The lights glowed brightly on senior Homecoming Queen Sage Barker and her court of, Crystal Johnson, Emily Keith, Grace Fenton, and Kacie Palmer. The Queen and Her Court nominated by the GHS Staff and voted on by the students.

King of the Court, football player Chris Dolson appeared during halftime to receive his honors.
