Domestic Violence Incident at Villas Liquor Store

Barricaded Subject in Villas Section of Lower Township Ends Without Incident
VILLAS, NJ (October 28, 2020)--On October 27, 2020, at approximately 7:24 PM, members of the Lower Township Police Department responded to the Villas Liquor store for the report of a domestic violence incident.
The victim told police that her boyfriend was currently at her residence, located at 22 Ellery Road Villas, NJ, and was breaking items in the residence. Officers immediately responded to this location and met with the defendant Raymond Stacy, a 53 year-old white male. Mr. Stacy began to make suicidal threats to officers if they entered the house and at that time, he barricaded himself inside the residence.
Patrol officers set up a safety perimeter around the residence and the Cape May County Regional SWAT team and Hostage Negotiation teams were notified and responded to the scene. After a several hour standoff, members of the Cape May County Regional SWAT team were able to have the subject exit the residence without incident. Mr. Stacy was later transported to the Cape May County Correctional Center.
Mr. Stacy was subsequently charged with Contempt of a Domestic Violence Order 2C:29-9b(1) a crime of the 4th degree, Criminal Mischief 2C:17-3A(1) a Disorderly Persons Offense and Burglary 2C:18-2A(2) a crime of the 3rd degree.
