Mayor Spencer: "Gloucester City Halloween Celebration Will Take Place At Your Risk

GLOUCESTER CITY NJ--(September 23, 2020)--Mayor Dan Spencer and the Celebrations Committee have released the following statement regarding Halloween activities in Gloucester City.

The celebration of Halloween and Trick-or-Treating will take place as scheduled “at your own risk” on Saturday, October 31st between the hours of 3pm to 7pm. Parents should decide if they feel it is safe enough for their children to participate in going door to door to collect candy. Likewise, neighbors should decide if they feel safe in distributing candy to those trick or treaters coming to their door. If you choose not to participate, we are asking neighbors to leave their door closed and to post a sign in their window that they are NOT PARTICIPATING in candy distribution.

Those children who are trick or treating, and parents who are escorting them, should be wearing a face covering (mask) and also should have hand sanitizer with them for use. Also, those neighbors giving out candy should be wearing a face covering (mask) and gloves, and should also use hand sanitizer frequently during the distribution. If possible, please leave the candy at the end of your walkway or on your step in a bowl or container with a kind note asking trick or treaters to please be kind and only take 1 piece of the treat.

Also, please limit the number of children traveling in a group to family members, and

everyone should keep a six feet distance as much as possible.

We all love Halloween and want everyone to be safe and stay well during these unprecedented times as the pandemic coronavirus is still with us.

We wish everyone a Happy Fall and Happy Halloween.

Mayor Daniel T. Spencer, Jr.
