GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP NJ--On September 26, 2020 at approximately 12:43 am, Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on Williamstown Road in the Sicklerville section of Gloucester Township. While speaking with the driver, Officers suspected that he was in possession of narcotics or under the influence of narcotics while driving. The driver, later identified as Oliver Lee, age 20, refused to cooperate with the Officers directions and refused to exit his vehicle. As Officers attempted to escort him from the vehicle, Mr. Lee placed the vehicle in drive and drove away, striking an Officer with the car door and running over his foot as he did.
Officers pursued Mr. Lee for about three miles before his vehicle suffered a mechanical issue and came to a stop. Mr. Lee was ordered from the vehicle, at which time he complied. He was taken into custody without further incident. One Officer sustained a minor injury from being struck by the car door but declined treatment.
Inside the vehicle, Officers located suspected marijuana and packaging material along with a knife. Oliver Lee was processed and remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility in accordance with the State of New Jersey Bail Reform Laws.
