Adelphi's 32nd Annual Golf Classic to Benefit Student-Athletes

This year, on Thursday, October 15, the University's Golf Classic again will benefit Adelphi's student-athletes in need.
GARDEN CITY, NY (09/24/2020) For the past 32 years, Adelphi University has hosted an annual golf classic, raising money for important causes such as scholarships. This year, on Thursday, October 15, the University's Golf Classic again will benefit Adelphi's student-athletes in need.
The event, held at the North Hempstead Country Club in Port Washington, New York, will begin with registration starting at 11 a.m., followed by brunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the shotgun start to proceed at 1 p.m.
All net proceeds from the event will benefit the Adelphi Department of Athletics' newly created Student-Athlete Emergency Fund. It was started in an effort to provide financial assistance for student-athletes to offset critical expenses resulting from the ongoing pandemic, including food insecurity and housing needs.
For safety, all participants will abide by the safety requirements and protocols implemented by the North Hempstead Country Club, including wearing face mask (except when eating and socially distancing on the golf course) and generally maintaining social distancing -- for example, two individuals may ride in a single cart with a plastic divider in the middle.
Participants can register to play or provide a sponsorship by emailing Jackie Hertling, Adelphi's senior events coordinator, at [email protected]. To learn more about the event visit: adelphi.edu/giving/annual-golf-classic/
