Acenda’s New CCBHC in Gloucester County Offers Care to Those with Mental Health /Substance Abuse

GLASSBORO, NJ (August 31, 2020) –  Acenda Integrated Health has opened its first Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) in Sewell, NJ. The opening comes after the organization was named a recipient of approximately $3,352,000 in federal funding over the course of two years from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for a Mental Health & Substance Abuse Service Grant. Acenda’s CCBHC will offer medical and wrap-around services to those who are already in treatment for mental health and substance abuse disorders by connecting clients to other vital resources in the community. The care provided will help to reduce unnecessary hospitalizations, allow for more treatment options and in turn, help to keep the community healthy.

“We are honored to be part of this national initiative that will provide much needed continuum of care for Gloucester County residents,” said Dr. Anthony DiFabio, President & CEO, Acenda.  “The CCBHC model allows us to provide long-term wellness treatments that will enable our community to thrive. We are grateful for our federal partners and to New Jersey legislators who support our efforts in delivering this integrated model of care.”

The Center offers an array of client-based services including:

  • individual and group therapy for both mental health and substance abuse disorders;
  • medicine management;
  • case management to assist with housing, employment, transportation;
  • health care services, including blood pressure, weight management, and nutrition counseling;

“Our CCBHC will be patient- and family-centered, recovery-oriented, wellness-focused, and will incorporate both primary and behavioral care,” said Melissa Fox, MHA, FACMPE, Chief Operating Officer, Acenda. “The comprehensive range of evidence-based practices will help clients in crisis by increasing access to treatment and support services that are much needed in the populations we serve.”

Bridget DeFiccio, LPC, Senior Vice President of Integrated Health, Acenda added, “The CCBHC will enhance our services and provide timely, comprehensive continuum of coordinated care. Our focus is on wellness and recovery, which requires working along with other health care and social service providers.”

Emergency rooms, hospitals, and crisis screening centers can refer patients to Acenda’s CCBHC. For more information on the CCBHC, visit acendahealth.org/ccbhc.
