The container vessel YM Mandate is no longer leaking fuel oil from a crack in the hull. Fuel oil is being pumped from the affected tank to a barge alongside the vessel. Oil containment boom and absorbent pads are deployed around the YM Mandate and skimming vessels continue to remove oil from the water. Camden City N.J. – Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a Sicklerville woman on Tuesday night, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Joseph Wysocki. Police were called to the intersection of 8th St. and Walnut St. in Camden shortly before midnight for a report of a woman lying in the road. She was transported by EMS to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The victim was identified as Ashley Allen, 33, of Sicklerville. Observation Deck to Remain Open The DuPont Nature Center at Mispillion Harbor Reserve will close for the winter starting Thursday, Oct. 1, with a scheduled reopening Saturday, April 3, 2021 for the busy spring and summer seasons. Callahan announced that a Bordentown City man has been charged with stealing proprietary intellectual property while he was employed by a luxury boat manufacturer in Bass River Township. The New Jersey Business & Industry Association told the Select Commission on Emergency COVID-19 Borrowing today that New Jersey’s fiscal shortfall does not amount to the need for $4.5 billion in borrowing proposed in the FY2021 State Budget. Sergeant Ethan Kaskin Anderson Police Department South Carolina End of Watch Friday, September 25, 2020 ANDERSON, SC--Sergeant Ethan Kaskin, age 59, was killed when his department vehicle was struck head-on on the Highway 24 bridge, near Wham Road in Anderson County, at 6:30 am. GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP NJ--Saturday, September 26, 2020 at approximately 9:00 PM officers responded to the Cherrywood Apartments, 1200 Little Gloucester Rd. for a reported pedestrian motor vehicle crash. Arriving officers found the victim, in the middle of a back driveway. The victim had obvious serious injuries to her lower extremities. As officers began to treat the victim, they observed both the victim's legs had sustained compound fractures, between the knee and ankle. Officers applied tourniquets to both legs, and attempted to stabilize the victim. The victim was transported to Cooper Trauma Center by Paramedics. The driver of the striking vehicle remained on location, and was uninjured. At the time of release the victim is listed in Serious but Stable condition. GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP NJ--On September 26, 2020 at approximately 12:43 am, Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on Williamstown Road in the Sicklerville section of Gloucester Township. While speaking with the driver, Officers suspected that he was in possession of narcotics or under the influence of narcotics while driving. The driver, later identified as Oliver Lee, age 20, refused to cooperate with the Officers directions and refused to exit his vehicle. As Officers attempted to escort him from the vehicle, Mr. Lee placed the vehicle in drive and drove away, striking an Officer with the car door and running over his foot as he did. The results may help health care professionals understand which patients who report insomnia are at increased risk for developing dementia.
