Cape May County Prosecutors Office Releases Video of Wildwood Police Arresting Suspect

The video shows the suspect, center, resisting arrest from the time he was removed from the pizzeria until he was placed into custody outside of the restaurant. A woman with her back to the camera can be seen trying to stop the police from doing their job.

The video below was prepared by the Cape May County Prosecutors Office to provide the public with information about use of force incident involving a police officer in the city of Wildwood on July 12, 2020.  


Any charges that may have been filed in this incident are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless they are proven guilty. 


The purpose of this video is to inform the public of the use of force review process for this incident.

 

The incident occurred in the 3700 unit block of Pacific Avenue in Wildwood, New Jersey on July 12, 2020. This investigation was focused on the legal standards of use of force to effectuate an arrest.
