Crown Point Road in West Deptford to Be Closed for RR Repairs

Route 44/Crown Point Road to be closed for railroad crossing repairs this week in West Deptford

(Trenton) – New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the start of a railroad crossing rehabilitation project that will require a four-day closure and 6a00d8341bf7d953ef022ad3ae4331200d-200pidetour of Route 44/Crown Point Road between Jobstown Road/Church Street and River Lane in West Deptford, Gloucester County.

Beginning at 7 a.m., Tuesday, August 11 until 7 p.m., Friday, August 14, Route 44/Crown Point Road is scheduled to be closed and detoured in both directions at the railroad crossing between Jobstown Road/Church Street and River Lane. Construction will remove the existing railroad crossing and replace it with a new concrete crossing, as well as new asphalt approaches for a safer and smoother railroad crossing. The following signed detours will be in place:

Route 44/Crown Point Road northbound detour

  • Motorists traveling northbound on Route 44/Crown Point Road will be directed to
  • turn right onto Mid-Atlantic Parkway
  • Turn left onto Friars Boulevard
  • Turn left onto Grove Street back to Route 44/Crown Point Road

Route 44/Crown Point Road southbound detour

  • Motorists traveling southbound on Route 44/Crown Point Road will be directed to turn left onto Grove Street
  • Turn right onto Friars Boulevard
  • Turn right onto Mid-Atlantic Parkway back to Route 44/Crown Point Road

 

This federally-funded project is included within NJDOT’s railroad grade-crossing safety program, which repairs, upgrades, or removes approximately 30 crossings each year, statewide.
