United Methodist Communities Certified as a Great Place to Work®

NEPTUNE, N.J., July 6, 2020 — Great Place to Work Institute has certified United Methodist Communities (UMC), a New Jersey-based senior living provider, as a Great Place to Work®. To determine the Best Workplaces in Aging Services, Great Place to Work analyzed anonymous survey feedback representing 223,183 employees working in Senior Housing & Care and At-Home Care in the Aging Services industry in the United States.

To be considered, companies had to meet the Great Place to Work-Certified standard. To ensure survey results truly represent all employees, Great Place to Work requires that Trust Index© survey results are accurate to a 95 percent confidence level with a 5 percent margin of error or better. Rankings are based on employees’ experiences, no matter who they are or what they do.

President and CEO, Lawrence Carlson, said, “Achieving this national certification for the third consecutive year is not only an outstanding accomplishment, but amid the challenge of a world-wide pandemic, is nothing less than remarkable.”

Attaining the Great Place to Work certification affirms associates’ positive evaluations of UMC. Among these, 90 percent cited that their work has special meaning and 88 percent reported they feel a sense of pride regarding UMC’s accomplishments.

Other associate feedback included 81 percent rating UMC as a Great Place to Work and 87 percent feeling good about the ways in which UMC contributes to the community. Great Place to Work certification differentiates UMC as an ideal organization in which associates can thrive and further their careers.

“We applaud our associates for this ‘3-peat’ recognition. I am confident it will draw potential new residents and new associates to join the UMC family because of who we are as an organization and what we do each day,” reflected David Glenn, vice president of human resources.
