The Carino Boys Basketball Club Recognizes the Following Coaches and Players

Even though it seems that the boys basketball season ended ages ago, with an Image002“incomplete” grade, the Carino Boys Basketball Club is pleased to announce and recognize the following coaches and players for their efforts in this most difficult 2019-2020 season.

Due to our current health situation, the event to honor all award winners needed to be cancelled.  Arrangements will be made to deliver awards to the recipients.

With the success of their annual All-Star games, the Club continues to award scholarships to deserving seniors.  This year, even with the cancellation of this year’s All-Star games, two scholarships in the amount of $1,500 are being awarded.

With the 2019-20 season completed with an “incomplete” grade, the Carino Boys Basketball Club is pleased to announce and recognize the following coaches and players for their efforts in this most difficult season.

Due to our current health situation, the event to honor all award winners needed to be cancelled. Arrangements will be made to deliver awards to all recipients.

The Albert J. Carino Boys Basketball Club put the wraps on another outstanding season with the awarding of the coveted Coach-of-the-Year Award presented to Coach Gene Allen of Atlantic City High School. The Vikings bounced back from a sub-par season in 2019 to win the South Jersey Group IV Championship with a 23-6 record. Allen previously was named Coach-of-the-Year in 2012 and 2013.

South Jersey had several Division 1 prospects patrolling the courts this season headed by Lance Ware, the Kentucky bound leader from Camden. The dynamic duo of Taj Thweat and Jahlil White (Wildwood Catholic) along with DJ Woodbury (Burlington City), Gianmarco Arletti (Holy Cross Academy) and Freshman DJ Wagner made up the balance of the 1st Team. Wagner is the first freshman to be so honored in many years.

Timber Creek concluded their outstanding season with three players being named to the All-South Jersey Team (Demetrius Paynter, Justin Bladen and Eric Benjamin).
