"If this government-ordered shutdown continues for much more than another week or two, the human cost of job losses and bankruptcies will exceed what most Americans imagine." ~Wall Street Journal Op-Ed

What this Coronavirus Pandemic is doing to the United States of America is beyond belief. Never in recent memory has anything like this happened in our country.
If someone had told you in January that the government would...
- Stop you from going to work
- Force you to close your business,
- Keep you from practicing your religion
- Keep you from your vacation home or visiting another state
- Stop you from using the neighborhood playground
- Close your children's school and colleges
- Keep you from walking on the beach
- Keep you from gathering with more than 10 people
- Keep you from shooting your weapon at a gun range
...you would have said, "No Way!" And yet that is exactly what has happened in March and is continuing to occur in the month of April. If you ever wondered what it would be like to live in a socialist country look no further than the present USA.
The problem is that everything that is being done to protect your health by the states and the federal government is killing your savings. Your stocks, bonds, annuities are losing value everyday right before your eyes. Senior citizens who were living off their investments have seen losses of $30,000 to $50,000 in one month. Some businesses that have closed may never open again.
The three years of prosperity that we witnessed since Trump was elected is now a thing of the past. Those who voted for him have suggested the pandemic is part of the "Deep State's" plan to unseat him from the presidency.
Why is it during the 2009-10 swine flu pandemic no one was confined to their home. Neither were businesses forced to close. Data shows between April 12, 2009, and April 10, 2010, the CDC said the swine flu caused 60.8 million illnesses, 273,304 hospitalizations and 12,469 deaths in the U.S. Globally, an estimated 205,700 to 575,400 people died from swine flu in the first year of the pandemic.
The flu over the past six months from October 1, 2019, through March 28, 2020, there have been:
Shortly after the swine flu pandemic our federal and state leaders, health agencies and the intelligence community were warned about the possibility of another pandemic. They were urged to stockpile medical supplies. Obviously, they didn't pay attention to the warnings for if they did we wouldn't have the shortages of respirators, ventilators, hospital beds, face masks and other medical supplies that are desperately needed today.
How is it that the 16 federal intelligent agencies, who are supposed to be the best in the world, missed the seriousness of the coronavirus. Likewise the medical experts like Dr. Anthony Fauci said in January the American people had nothing to worry about when asked about the number of deaths occurring in Wuhan province where the virus started. "The American people should not be worried or frightened by this. It's a very, very low risk to the United States," Dr. Fauci said on The CATS Roundtable. "It isn't something that the American public needs to worry about or be frightened about."
The Daily Fear Factor
Why must we continually hear about how many people have been sicken by this virus and how many have died. Just because some people have tested positive doesn't mean they are sick. Having daily press conferences to broadcast these numbers in the afternoon and night is overkill. Not satisfied with scaring us with this information we are being told by the politicians, and some in the medical community that we need to start preparing for the second wave of coronavirus. They didn't tell us who told them a second wave is coming. They just throw this information out there and we are supposed to take what they are saying is factual.
You would think the mainstream media would ask that question but as we know many of those news outlets have their own agenda, and some of those same news outlets have a tendency to release fake news. Anyone who doesn't see the bias in the news media has blinders on.
In Pennsylvania, the world’s largest manufacturer of handbells became the latest company to challenge Pennsylvania’s shut down order for non-life-sustaining businesses, this time arguing that Gov. Tom Wolf’s mandate violates the Fifth Amendment. Schulmerich Bells filed a complaint in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on Friday that alleges the order infringes on the amendment’s “takings clause” that prohibits the government from seizing private property for public use. Schulmerich Chairman Jonathan Goldstein said the order denies the company access to its assets and threatens criminal prosecution or withholding of disaster aid as punishment.
Washington is spending trillions of dollars of our money without any say from you under the pretense that it will stimulate the economy. "We need the money to keep you safe." At times they act giddy at the thought of getting their hands on all that money. You wouldn't be wrong if you compared them to Nero, who played the fiddle, while Rome burned to the ground. Of course the political elite couldn't resist adding their pet projects to the bill even though the money wasn't suppose to include any. Here are just a few of those that were hidden in the legislation; $25 million went to fix up the Kennedy Center, $10 billion to prop up the post office, $30 billion to fund colleges, states and school districts, $250 billion for the arts, $400 million to prepare for 2020 election. What do any of those items have to do with the coronavirus?
To keep the discontents from speaking out they have allocated a $1200 pittance to be given to each taxpayer. Even though we haven't seen the effect of third stimulus package Washington wants to borrow another $2 trillion to fix the nation's roadways. Your children's children will be the ones stuck with paying off enormous debt. .
- When will the shelter in place rule end?
- When will businesses be allowed to open?
- When will children be allowed to go back to school?
- When can you go back to work?
We are not being told the answers to those questions, and that is wrong! In the majority of states the governor will decide when things will reopen.
Pressed for a response Gov. Murphy said it may be late May or early June before New Jerseyans can come out of their caves.
Murphy, appearing on CNN last week, said he thinks rigorous social distancing and the shuttering of many businesses will continue “deep into May.”
Let the people go back to work. They can protect themselves without the government telling them how to wash their hands and maintain social distancing. They also know if they are sick they should avoid going to work.
If a quick turnaround doesn't happen soon the downfall of our economy and financial markets will make the 1930's Depression and the 2008 Recession look like a walk in the park. Call the governor of your state and your Washington representatives tell them to end the lockdown now.
The Wall Street Journal summed it up this way; If this government-ordered shutdown continues for much more than another week or two, the human cost of job losses and bankruptcies will exceed what most Americans imagine.
