DOVER, Del. – The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control announced that starting Friday those aged 13 or older are required to bring a face mask with them to enter state parks, wildlife areas and reserves, and should wear the mask when they cannot maintain social distancing from other visitors. Those who do not bring face masks when visiting these areas may be required to leave by DNREC Natural Resources Police officers or staff. Camden, N.J. – Detectives are warning residents about a scam targeting the elderly during quarantine after two Camden County households were scammed out of thousands of dollars. Multiple cases have been reported throughout various counties, according to police. Detectives said the victim or victims typically receive a phone call from a person posing as a lawyer or family member who says a child or grandchild has been arrested and needs to be bailed out of jail. The victims are then instructed to collect cash from the bank and wait at home where a bail bondsman will meet them due to the quarantine. The Crash Response Investigation Team (CRIT) is investigating a fatal crash that happened on the Black Horse Pike on April 27, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Gloucester Township Police Chief David Harkins. Police were called to the 1200 block of N. Black Horse Pike in Blackwood shortly before 5 p.m. for a report of a man hit by a box truck. PHILADELPHIA – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers in Philadelphia continue to conduct the agency’s vital trade enforcement mission, including intercepting counterfeit consumer electronics that pose a real serious threat to the health and financial security of American consumers. CBP officers completed a seizure April 14 of two shipments from China that contained more than 20,000 pieces representing 35 different counterfeit consumer electronics, including video gaming systems, speakers, watches, cameras, scanners, DVD players, headphones, chargers and other electronics. Additionally, CBP officers seized counterfeit injectable dental gels. If authentic, the electronics would have had a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $519,510. Carneys Point Township, N.J. - The New Jersey State Police have charged a 17-year-old male from Elmer, N.J., a 16-year-old male from Penns Grove, N.J., and a 16-year-old male from Pittsgrove, N.J. for allegedly throwing an object off an overpass that injured a truck driver on the New Jersey Turnpike. On March 26, at 10:47 p.m., troopers from Troop “D” Moorsetown Station responded to a motor vehicle incident on the New Jersey Turnpike northbound in the area of milepost 4.9 in Carneys Point, Salem County.
