“Our Department of Senior Services serves senior meals through our Serv-A-Tray nutrition program. Our drivers deliver meals to our homebound seniors and checks on our seniors daily,” Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger.
We are extremely grateful for the support of our volunteers from our own community and the Rutgers Cooperative Extension, added Freeholder Director Damminger.
“We’re delivering 400 meals a day to our homebound seniors,” said Freeholder Director Damminger.
In addition to our senior population, we are also delivering meals to our blind and visually impaired population.
“We’re very grateful for the opportunity to partner with Senior Services to deliver meals to our impaired seniors,” Freeholder Jim Jefferson said. “We are continuously checking in on all of our seniors to make sure they are staying safe and healthy during this time.”
The Division of Senior Services and the Division of Human and Disability Services are currently restricting public access to their office, but are ensuring that any assistance needed will be given to our vulnerable populations.
“Our departments are assisting every caller with whatever they need by telephone,” said Freeholder Jefferson. “We also want to remind everyone to check on your neighbors who are vulnerable and assist wherever you can.”
