ATCO, NJ (February 25, 2020)--Former Gloucester City resident Judy Caporusso-Dietz has opened a candy store in Atco named Sinfully Sweets, 302 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ 08004 (856-210-6102). Her memories of a neighborhood candy store on King Street was one of the reasons she dreamed of opening a similar store one day. Judy graduated from Gloucester High School and pursued numerous careers before undertaking her latest

adventure.

In most Gloucester City neighborhoods in the '50s, '60s, and '70s it was not uncommon to find a corner grocery store within walking distance of your home.  Besides selling groceries, deli meats, etc. and newspapers; many of the stores sold penny candy.

Judy said, "As a little girl, growing up in Gloucester City, I always loved skipping around the corner to our local candy store, Ellick's, owned by Yeta and Gert Ellick, on King St.  I was thrilled with being able to pick out all types of candy for a mere nickel or dime.  A real treat!",  she said.

"I always wanted to open my own candy store and never gave up on my dream. Sixty years later, I can proudly say I am the proud owner of "Sinfully Sweets", a sweet boutique selling homemade gourmet chocolate candy of all types and YES, I am selling penny candy! "

The list of goodies at Sinfully Sweets includes:

Gourmet pretzels

Chocolate Covered Grahams IMG_3079

Chocolate Covered Oreos

Chocolate gummy bears

Chocolate dipped potato chips

Chocolate strawberries

Chocolate Nonpareils

Sea salt caramels

Cranberry nut clusters

Marshmallows

Caramel apples

"Every week we are adding to our menu. This week we are selling  Irish Potatoes. I will definitely be adding sugar-free items to my menu in the near future."

Judy graduated from Gloucester City High School in 1972. "I have had many different careers, Legal Secretary and School Secretary for the Haddonfield School District where I resided for 25 years.  I am a mother of two lovely children and one beautiful granddaughter."

"Please take a moment to stop by my candy store and share your childhood memories with me, and treat yourself to a yummy treat!"
