PHILADELPHIA (February 14, 2020)-- – Members of the Drexel men's soccer team received recognition at the annual Philadelphia Soccer Six awards banquet earlier this week.
Chris Donovan was honored for being the Soccer Six's leading goal scorer and point getter with seven goals and two assists. Donovon was named to the Soccer Six All-Star Team and was also Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 23 after he recorded a goal and an assist in the 2-0 win George Mason and an assist in the 2-1 win over William and Mary.
Yassine Elkahloun was named to the Soccer Six All-Rookie Team after scoring two goals and adding two assists. Elkahloun was also named Rookie of the Week for the week of Sept. 30, after scoring the lone goal in a 3-1 defeat to Princeton.
Cameron Sanders was named Defender of the Week on the week of Sept. 16 for his performance in the 1-1 tie at NJIT and the 2-1 win at Bucknell, where he saved five shots.
Stephen Kopsachilis was named Defender of the Week on the week of Oct. 21 for his performance in the 3-0 victory over St. Joseph's, where he saved five shots.
Francisco Rodrigues da Palma was named to the Soccer 6 All-Star Team for his performance this season where he scored two goals and assisted on three more.
Drexel finished last season with a 6-9-2 record and a 2-5-1 record in the Colonial Athletic Association.
In an announcement in early February, Michael Marchiano was named as the sixth head men's soccer coach in the history of the program. Marchiano recently completed his sixth season as an assistant coach at Loyola University Maryland.
