NJ Residents Named to MAC Academic Honor Roll

READING, PA (01/13/2020)-- The following local student-athletes were named to the 2019 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Fall Academic Honor Roll for their achievements in the classroom during the Fall 2019 semester. Students salute

Tyler Barrett of Mays Landing (08330) competed as a member of the Alvernia University Golden Wolves Cross Country Team during the Fall 2019 season. The Oakcrest High School graduate is studying Sport Management at Alvernia.

Sean Barnard of Southampton (08088) competed as a member of the Alvernia University Golden Wolves Men's Soccer Team during the Fall 2019 season. The Seneca High School graduate is studying Health Care Science at Alvernia.

Taylor Suto of Jobstown (08041) competed as a member of the Alvernia University Golden Wolves Women's Volleyball Team during the Fall 2019 season. The North Burlington Regional High School graduate is studying Health Care Science at Alvernia.

Sydni McKenna of Pitman (08071) competed as a member of the Alvernia University Golden Wolves Cross Country Team during the Fall 2019 season. The Pitman High School graduate is studying Business Management at Alvernia.

Paige McKenna of Pitman (08071) competed as a member of the Alvernia University Golden Wolves Cross Country Team during the Fall 2019 season. The Pitman High School graduate is studying Biochemistry at Alvernia.

Heather Perna of Franklinville (08322) competed as a member of the Alvernia University Golden Wolves Women's Soccer Team during the Fall 2019 season. The Our Lady Of Mercy Academy graduate is studying Nursing at Alvernia.

The MAC Academic Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes who compete in a varsity level sport and registered a semester GPA of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) or higher.

A total of 1,588 student-athletes were recognized across the MAC for their achievements in the classroom.

Women's Soccer led the way for Alvernia with 19 representatives, four of which earned a 4.00 GPA. Field Hockey was second with 16 representatives, including five athletes with a 4.00 GPA. Men's Soccer finished right behind field hockey with 15 student-athletes on the honor roll, including one individual with a 4.00 GPA. Football finished with 12 student-athletes represented, including two with a 4.00 GPA. Women's Volleyball finished with nine individuals. Women's Cross Country had seven representatives, including two with a 4.00 GPA, and men's cross country finished with four representatives.

Across all sports, 14 Alvernia student-athletes achieved a 4.00 GPA this semester.
