Use caution as roads may be slippery and stay clear of plows, spreaders and emergency responders
(Trenton) – New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials announced the Commercial Vehicle Travel Restriction that was in place on portions of I-78, I-80 and I-287 has been lifted effective at 8 p.m. tonight, Monday, December 2.
All vehicles previously listed in the restriction are able to resume normal travel. State Highways are wet, but in good condition. Precipitation is expected to continue overnight and end tomorrow morning.
Motorists should continue to use caution and drive carefully as there could be slippery roadways. Our crews will continue to work through the night to make sure roads are in good condition for the Tuesday morning commute. Stay clear of plows, spreaders and emergency responders so they are able to do their jobs safely.
If you are driving tonight or tomorrow morning, remember to clear snow and ice before you drive, plan extra travel time, and maintain a safe following distance from other vehicles. NJDOT will be using Variable Message Signs throughout the storm to provide updates.
