The next meeting of the South Jersey Anti-Trafficking Coalition (SJATC) will be held on November 4, 2019, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., at Hopeloft in Bridgeton. Our guest speaker will be SERV staff member Nesmaida Baez, who will be sharing information about the new Child Advocacy Center (CAC) in Cumberland County. The CAC will provide a variety of services to children and families experiencing trauma. These services will include outreach to the community, case management, individual counseling, and medical and legal accompaniments to support, empower, and advocate for children and their families.
If you are interested in learning how you can help advocates identify and recover survivors of human trafficking in the community, plan to attend. This event is open to the public. You are welcome to bring resources (articles, event flyers, agency handouts, etc.) to share with other members of the coalition.
Services Empowering Rights of Victims (SERV) provides crisis intervention, counseling, and support to survivors of human trafficking, sexual violence, and domestic violence in South Jersey. Our dedicated team of highly trained and compassionate staff provide personalized care to help people follow a path to healing.
SERV's Human Trafficking Program and local partners make up the SJATC, which is comprised of community members and various professionals throughout Camden, Gloucester, and Cumberland counties. Meetings are typically held on the second Monday of each month (schedule subject to change in relation to holidays), with the location rotating between these three counties.
The primary focus of the coalition is to increase knowledge about human trafficking. Other priorities include increasing outreach and provision of direct services for foreign and domestic victims of human trafficking.
