SJTA to Conduct Work Zone Safety Enforcement Details


In observance of Nat'l Traffic Incident Response Week



HAMMONTON, NJ - Nov. 12, 2019 - The South Jersey Transportation Authority in coordination with the New Jersey State Police will be conducting a series work zone enforcement details to reinforce the importance of Good News 20motorists driving safely in work zone lane closures along the Atlantic City Expressway.


The enforcement details will be in operation mornings and afternoons starting today, Tuesday, Nov. 12 through Friday, Nov. 15 at various lane closures in both the east and westbound lanes. The State Police details will be looking for motorist talking on hand-held cell phones, other distracted driving behaviors and speeding.


The national campaign is designed to "encourage EVERYDRIVER to move over and slow down to protect responders (public works, fire, law enforcement, tow, EMS and transportation personnel) working on local roadways" according to information from the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, which is promoting the effort in the tri-state area #MoveOver
