The Scarlet Raptors’ captain averaged 26.0 points while leading the team to a 3-0 record in the first three games of the season. That performance earned Williams recognition as the New Jersey Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week when the NJAC named its weekly honors today.

Williams opened her season on Nov. 12 by scoring 27 points, tying her career high with four steals, and adding three rebounds and two assists. In the opener of the Cairn Invitational Tip-Off Mixer on Friday, she scored 19 points, dished off five assists, added three rebounds and once again tied her career steal mark with four.

Williams topped those performances with a career-high 32 points against host Cairn University on Saturday. She shot a blistering 14-for-18 from the floor, including 2-for-4 from three-point range, and scored the first five points in a game where the Raptors led all the way. She added three rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Williams’ 32-point explosion passed her previous career high of 29 points, set against Penn State-Abington on Jan. 7, 2019.

With her 78 points in her first three games of the season, Williams hiked her career scoring output to 810 points. She is on track to become the 14th player in program history to reach the Rutgers-Camden 1,000-point club.

A four-year letterwinner, Williams took her game to a new level last season as a junior, earning NJAC Second Team honors, being named the Scarlet Raptors’ Most Dedicated Player, earning NJAC Player of the Week honors on Jan. 14, 2019, and capturing Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week on both November 26, 2018 and January 14, 2019. She captured another Raptor of the Week honor on Monday.

During her freshman season (2016-17), Williams was named to the Jim Crawley All-Tournament Team at Frostburg State (Nov. 18-19).

A three-year varsity basketball letterwinner during her days at Timber Creek High School, Williams was an All-Conference First Team player during her senior season.

Williams is a Childhood Studies major at Rutgers-Camden.
