Collingswood Resident Shot and Killed

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ (Nov. 18, 2019)--Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Collingswood Police Chief Kevin Carey reported a homicide that occurred in Collingswood on November 17, 2019.

The Collingswood Police Department responded to reports of a man who appeared to be injured on the 500 block of North Newton Lake Drive in Collingswood at approximately 10:20 p.m. Officers located the victim, Jose Morel, 26, of Collingswood, inside of an apartment building lobby suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Jose Morel was taken to Cooper University Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 11:00 p.m.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and there is no further information being released at this time. No arrests have been made at this time.
