COLONIA, NJ (CNBNewsnet)(Oct. 29, 2019) --The FAA said a twin-engine Cessna 414 came down in Colonia on Berkley Avenue at 11am today, Tuesday, just several hundred yards from the Claremont Avenue Elementary School.

According to WABC the crash resulted in two homes catching on fire leaving the pilot dead. 

Authorities say no one was inside the house that was struck, but flames quickly spread to a nearby home where a woman was inside. She escaped without injury, but the house was damaged.

No other people on the ground were impacted.

The pilot was identified as Dr. Michael Schloss, who worked in New York City but his plane was based in Linden.
