(Deptford, NJ) -- Freeholder Heather Simmons attended the Municipal Economic Development Committee's (MEDC) meeting at Auletto Caterers in Deptford on Sept. 27, 2019 to discuss and promote the county’s 2019 Shop, Dine, Go Local campaign.

MEDC members signed the Shop Local Pledge, declaring that they would Shop, Dine, and Go Local to support small business and promote Gloucester County’s economy.

Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said, "Gloucester County is the home to hundreds of locally owned and operated businesses including restaurants, breweries, wineries, retail and specialty stores that are all unique in their own way. We encourage residents to consider these businesses when deciding where to spend their money and who to support."

Freeholder Simmons, who serves as liaison to the department of economic development, said, “The Shop, Dine, Go Local campaign is designed to encourage county residents to spend money within the local community to help the county’s economy thrive. This is the eighth year we have held this campaign and all money spent at independent businesses returns three times more money to the local economy. “
