Alleged Burglar Arrested After Returning To The Crime Scene


WINSLOW TOWNSHIP, NJ (October 11, 2019)--During the morning hours of  October 11, Officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle burglary on Summer Lea Drive, which is in the Sicklerville section of Winslow Twp. While taking the report, User33450-1397825361-media1_ffffff_240_152_PrsMe_Joseph Cortazzo was dropped off in the area from a local cab.  Officers on scene
recognized Coratzzo, as he matched the description of the burglar, they viewed on area surveillance footage.

Investigation revealed that Cortazzo came back to the scene in an effort to retrieve his own back-pack that he had mistakenly left in one of the vehicles that he had burglarized.

As a result of the investigation, an additional back-pack, lap top computer, and U.S. Currency that was taken from the vehicles was recovered.

Cortazzo was subsequently charged with two counts of burglary and theft from a motor vehicle, and released on a summons.
