NJ News Commons: FEDERAL FUNDS: $2.5M IN NJ FOR ORAL HEALTH INVESTMENT

 

Three health centers in our state — Henry J. Austin Health Center in Trenton, Paterson Community Health Center, and Ocean Health Initiatives — will each receive $300,000 to expand and improve dental and oral health care for their patients. AG REVISES DIRECTIVE: ICE COOPERATION, COUNTY JAILS

On Friday, state Attorney General Gurbir Grewal signed a revised Immigrant Trust Directive, citing an "overzealous enforcement of our country’s immigration laws." The move prohibits counties from training police departments under 287(g) agreements, which are active in Monmouth and Cape May counties. Monmouth County's sheriff accused Grewal of creating a "sanctuary" state. "We are the ones who need the victims and witnesses to come forward and provide us the information necessary to prosecute those people," Grewal said. (WHYY)
