Motorcyclist Killed Overnight In Gloucester Township; Single Vehicle Crash

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ (9-25-19)--On Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at approximately 1:36am officers from the Gloucester Township Police Department were dispatched to the area of Hickstown Road, west of Erial Road, for a person lying off the roadway next to a motorcycle.
GTPD, GTEMS and Virtua Paramedics arrived and located the subject off the roadway with no pulse and suffering from unknown injuries. Attempts to resuscitate the operator of the User43018-1569418704-media1_27136c_240_180_PrsMe_motorcycle were unsuccessful and the operator was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash is being investigated by the Gloucester Township Police Department’s Serious Crash Investigation Team (SCIT). Initial investigation revealed the motorcycle traveled off the roadway into an area of brush where the operator was ejected. At this time it is not believed any other vehicles were involved. Hickstown Road was closed for approximately two and half hours during the initial stages of the investigation. The name of the motorcyclist is being withheld at this time pending notifications.
