FEDS COULD AGAIN RESTRICT SNAP BENEFITS, NJ AFFECTED

September 23: That's the last day a federal portal will accept comments about potential changes to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). OCEAN COUNTY FILES LAWSUIT OVER 'SANCTUARY STATE' 4ef2ddad-68fe-4367-af9d-5f794a541b69

On Wednesday, Ocean County Freeholder Jack Kelly announced that the county has filed a complaint in federal court over state Attorney General Gurbir Grewal's so-called Immigrant Trust Directive, which was issued in November. SUIT WANTS TO REMOVE TEENS FROM SEX OFFENDER LIST

A man who was placed on the sex offender registry at age 16 — and will continue to face that mistake until 2027 — has filed a civil rights lawsuit against the state Attorney General's office. The lawsuit seeks to revise Megan's Law by removing juvenile offenders from the list and/or not requiring them to register, as is the case in Pennsylvania and in over 10 other states. (NJ.com)

NJ UNEMPLOYMENT RATE DROPS TO NEW LOW: 3.2 PERCENT

The state Labor and Workforce Development Department has been tallying the unemployment rate since 1976 — and it just hit a record low. Still, that metricdoesn't tell the whole story.
