CNBNews--COLLINGSWOOD NJ (Sept. 28, 2019)--The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and Collingswood Police department reported that a 15-year-old Woodlynne male, a student of Collingswood High School, was charged with bringing a handgun to school today.
The Collingswood Police Department was notified this afternoon by school personnel after students alerted a staff member that they believed the juvenile was in possession of a handgun.
No one was injured, and there were no reported threats made to the students or the school.
The student was charged with Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose according to the Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Collingswood Police Chief Kevin Carey. The juvenile was also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in an Educational Institution and Possession of Firearms by Minors.
The investigation into the matter is ongoing and no further information is being released at this time.
All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
