Ashley Balcerzak reports that her team has uncovered a second donor to a so-called 4ef2ddad-68fe-4367-af9d-5f794a541b69'dark money' group affiliated with Gov. Phil Murphy, New Direction New Jersey. Politico previously reported the New Jersey Education Association donated $1 million in April and $2.5 million in 2018 — now, thanks to this reporting, we also know that 32BJ SEIU, a branch of the Service Employees International Union, wrote a $150,000 check in June 2018. NEW LAW COULD MAKE ACCESS TO PALLIATIVE CARE EASIER

Under a new law signed by Gov. Phil Murphy on Friday, the state will create a health department program to make sure patients in palliative and hospice careget the help they need as efficiently as possible. In these end-of-life decisions, empathy and speed are key. The law gives the state three months to set up the program, which will be overseen by an 11-member panel. (NJ Spotlight)

TWO NEW EDUCATION LAWS: START TIMES, MENTAL HEALTH

Gov. Phil Murphy has signed two laws that will affect K-12 students in our state. The first ushers in a mandated mental health curriculum for all public schools, both reviewed and updated by the state Board of Education. The second will launch a pilot program for high school students: the state wants to know whether starting school later might improve academic performance. (Planet Princeton)

POLICE INVESTIGATING 100+ SLASHED TIRES AS BIAS CRIME

On Saturday morning, someone slashed the tires of dozens of tires in Lakewood's Old Pine Acres neighborhood. The police are looking into the crime as a Bias Incident because all of the vandalized vehicles belong to Jewish people, a police captain said. This video shows the crime. (Asbury Park Press)
