GLOUCESTER CITY POLICE ARREST DRUG SUSPECT FOLLOWING TRAFFIC STOP

 

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ--Gloucester City Police apprehended a suspect on illegal drug charges on Thursday, August 22 (4:37 pm) at North Broadway and King Street following a routine traffic stop. During the course of their 6a00d8341bf7d953ef0168e89e20f5970c-800wiinvestigation, a K9 unit from the Camden County Sheriff’s Office was requested to conduct an open air narcotics sniff around the exterior of the vehicle.  The K9 unit confirmed narcotics odor coming from the vehicle and a subsequent search resulted with the seizure of a quantity of heroin and crack cocaine.

As a result Ptl. George Spingler and Ptl. Sean Saunders arrested Jacob A. McPherson (30), a resident of the unit block of S. Burlington St. McPherson was charged with possession of CDS (heroin and crack cocaine), possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license.  He was later released.

8/16 (12:53 pm) Ofc. Brittany Pollander was called to Yale Ave. at Lehigh Ave. for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

8/16 (2:07 pm) Ptl. Will DeFoney was called to Rt. 130 at Klemm Ave. for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported. 

 

8/16 (3:23 pm) Ptl. Will DeFoney responded to Dollar General on S. Broadway for a report of a stolen bike.  Surveillance video of the theft was obtained and the investigation is ongoing.

 

8/16 (8:22 pm) Ofc. Johanna James responded of a residence in the 300 block of Mercer St. for a report of an overdose.  Upon arrival, the (34) year old female resident was found unconscious and not breathing.  EMS personnel administered one dose of Naloxone and the female regained consciousness.  She was transported to an area hospital for further treatment.

 

8/18 (10:21 pm) Ptl. Will DeFoney responded to Royal Farms on Rt. 130 for a report of theft of gas.  The investigation is ongoing.

 

8/18 (10:46 pm) A pedestrian stop on Broadway at Market St. conducted by Ofc. Johanna James resulted with the arrest of Dwayne M. Hird (40), a resident of Haddon Heights.  He was arrested on a warrant from Mt. Ephraim and additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic syringes.  He was released on bail.

 

8/19 (3:54 pm) Ptl. Ben McKinney responded to a vacant property on the 1000 block of Market St. for a reported attempted burglary.  Upon arrival, the rear door glass was found to be smashed.  The investigation is ongoing.

 

8/19 (9:08 pm) Ofc. Barb Kane was called to Market St. at Maple Ave. for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

8/20 (1:55 pm) Sgt. Bill Eller responded to a residence in the 100 block of N. King St. for a report of a theft.  Upon arrival, it was reported that two bicycles were stolen from the rear yard of a residence at approximately 1:00 am.  Surveillance video of the theft has been obtained and the investigation is ongoing.

 

8/20 (7:04 pm) Ptl. Ben McKinney responded to a residence on Baynes Ave. for a report of a theft.  Upon arrival, the resident reported a lawnmower, weed whacker and chain saw were stolen from her shed sometime during the previous day.  The investigation is ongoing.

 

8/20 (7:30 pm) Cpl. Bill Johnson was called to King St. at Hudson St. for a hit and run crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing.

 

8/20 (9:17 pm) Ofc. Barb Kane responded to a residence in the 600 block of Division St. for a theft report.  Upon arrival, the resident reported two bicycles were stolen from her rear yard sometime during the past two days.  The investigation is ongoing.

 

8/20 (11:25 pm) While on patrol, Ptl. Don Fager III observed a male walking on Sylvan Ave. at Sherwood Ave. who he confirmed was a fugitive from justice wanted in Gloucester County. When Ptl. Fager III approached the male, he fled, initiating a brief foot pursuit.  Ptl. Fager III apprehended the male and placed him under arrest without further incident.  Shawn M. Miller (36), a resident of the 500 block of Sherwood Ave. was charged with resisting arrest, possession of CDS (heroin), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic syringe.  He was turned over to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office on the fugitive warrant.

 

8/21 (11:57 am) Ptl. Will DeFoney was called to Rt. 130 at Klemm Ave. for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

8/21 (6:14 pm) Cpl. Bill Lessig was called to Rt. 130 at Klemm Ave. for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

8/21 (7:48 pm) A bicycle stop on Broadway at king St. conducted by Det. Keith O’Donnell and Ptl. George Spingler resulted with the arrest of a (17) year old juvenile male from Westville.  He was charged with possession of CDS (marijuana) and released to his mother pending juvenile court action.

 

8/22 (9:02 am) Ptl. Wil DeFoney was called to Rt. 130 at Fernwood Ave. for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

8/22 (6:57 pm) A pedestrian stop on Broadway at Champion Rd. conducted by Cpl. Bill Lessig resulted with the arrest of Tiffany L. Treadway (31), a resident of Camden City.  She was arrested on a warrants from Gloucester City and Winslow Twp.  She was released on bail.

 

8/22 (8:01 pm) A traffic stop on Rt. 130 at Market St. conducted by Cpl. Joe Eller resulted with the arrest of Nancy J. Gentile (56), a resident of Blackwood.  She was arrested on a warrant from Rowan University Police and later turned over to their custody.

 

8/22 (9:16 pm) A bicycle stop on Broadway at Linden St. conducted by Ptl. Sean Saunders and Ptl. George Spingler resulted with the arrest of Alexander B. Peters (31), a resident of Gloucester Twp.  He was arrested on a warrant from Camden City and additionally charged with possession of CDS (heroin) and possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was released on bail.

In addition, officers made (32) traffic stops and (276) property/business checks.  Officers made (13) arrests, impounded (1) abandoned vehicle, responded to (16) domestic disputes, (46) medical assists and managed (349) calls for service between August 16th. and August 22nd
