PHILADELPHIA PA (August 30, 2019)--Summer gets a proper send-off in Philadelphia this Labor Day weekend (August 30 through September 2, 2019) with tons of fantastic events at both indoor and outdoor attractions citywide.
Residents and visitors flock to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway for the epic Made in America music festival on Saturday and Sunday, featuring performances by Cardi B, Travis Scott, Lizzo and more of the biggest names in hip-hop and R&B.
Along the Delaware River waterfront, a festive fireworks show illuminates the sky on Saturday and a cultural festival and sustainable living celebration takes over the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing on Sunday.
The long holiday weekend is also a prime time to visit summertime attractions like Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest — which closes for the season on Sunday, September 1— and Spruce Street Harbor Park, the urban oasis that’s only open through the end of September.
Other event highlights include free outdoor movie screenings, rooftop parties, the final days of several big exhibitions and more.

Labor Day weekend brings the last few days of the season for the fun-filled Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest. Head to the Delaware River waterfront destination by Sunday — its last day open of the season — for boardwalk eats, craft beer and cocktails, roller skating, mini-golf, arcade games and the 60-foot-tall Ferris wheel.


The Spirit of Philadelphia and other attractions along the Delaware River waterfront partner for the third annual Waterfront Day. The day-long event features a pop-up beer garden and special cruises onboard the Spirit of Philadelphia, $3 off admission at the Independence Seaport Museum, $3 Ferris Wheel rides at Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest, and awesome food and drink deals from Franklin Fountain, Sugarhouse Casino, La Peg and Spruce Street Harbor Park. The U.S. Army Band performs at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing at 8 p.m., followed by fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
