(Watch video) Camden City PowerCorps Recruits Youth to Green the City
Thursday, July 25, 2019
(Camden City, NJ)(Gloucestercitynews.net)(July 25, 2019)--When it rains in Camden, it can flood. And when it floods, the sewer system can overflow. One solution is to soak up the storm water by building more rain gardens. But that raises a question: who will take care of those gardens? Enter the PowerCorps.
This video from CivicStory showcases PowerCorps, a joint project of CCMUA and Camden City. PowerCorps teaches young people about CSOs, green infrastructure, and stormwater management practices while empowering Camden youth to become environmental leaders within their community. If any utilities or municipalities are interested in replicating or adapting this program, please contact the CCMUA.
