Suspect Arrested For Murder of Gloucester City Man

UPDATED May 6, 2019: According to newspaper reports Harter's death is the 12 homicide reported in Camden City this year, compared to eight homicides in the same period of 2018. Harter was the second Gloucester City man to be killed in Camden City this year.
Ryan Reven, age 42, also of Gloucester City was assaulted near 6th and Auburn Streets on January 19. He died on February 1 in Cooper Hospital from his injuries.

CAMDEN CITY, NJ (May 5, 2019)--Daeshon Davis, 22, of Camden, was arrested and charged in a connection with a stabbing that killed Ryan Harter on May 3, 2019.
Camden County Police responded to reports of an unconscious male near the 1000 block of South 5th Street in Camden at approximately 10:52 a.m. When officers arrived, they located the Gloucester City man deceased at the scene from multiple stab wounds.
Daeshon Davis was charged with first-degree Murder on May 5, 2019, according to Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson. He was also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
Daeshon Davis was taken into custody on May 5, 2019, by the United States Marshals Service at approximately 5:30 p.m. He was transported to the Camden County Police Department where he was processed and then taken to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a pretrial detention hearing.
All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
