HAMMONTON, NJ (gloucestercitynews.net)- May 21, 2019- The South Jersey Transportation Authority is pleased and proud to welcome the public to another season with its annual 100 Days of Summer celebration on the Atlantic City Expressway at Farley Plaza, Friday, May 24, 2019, 12 noon to 4 p.m.
"The Jersey Shore is always exciting, but this year with the continued resurgence of Atlantic City, we are already seeing high numbers traveling along the Expressway", said SJTA Executive Director Stephen F. Dougherty. "New casinos, our famed boardwalks, fishing, unique beaches and towns both big and small that dot the coast, are only a few reasons why New Jersey is the perfect place for a family vacation. We welcome another 100 Days of Summer and wish all those who use our roadway and airport safe travels and happy memories," he added.
100 Days of Summer will culminate with eastbound toll-free passage at the Egg Harbor toll plaza on the Expressway paid for by famous Philadelphia area sports bar and restaurant Chickie's and Pete's. Travelers heading toward the shore can enjoy the 100 Days of Summer festivities at Farley Plaza and then get a break on the eastbound toll from 5 to 6 p.m.
WIP Sports Radio will broadcast live from the event with their radio personalities on hand from 12 noon to 4 p.m. to give out prizes to lucky winners.
Free samples of food and beverages, while they last, will be offered by Starbucks, Hershey's Ice Cream and Fresh Attractions courtesy of HMS Host, restaurateur and operator of Farley Service plaza. Coke's Monster Energy Drink® will be available to help refresh and invigorate the crowd. Chickie's and Pete's will also be sending their popular Crabfries Truck to dole out free samples.
Ron's Gardens of Hammonton also returns to the Farley Service plaza with regular hours during the entire summer offering a wide variety of JERSEY FRESH® produce, fruits and garden plants in season - a favorite among shore-bound travelers, especially those spending vacation time at their summer homes or rentals.

The New Jersey State Police is slated to land one of its helicopters and will bring other rescue equipment for kids of all ages to check out while the Atlantic City International Airport Fire Department will display and demonstrate some of its safety apparatus used to keep the public safe at the airport and in surrounding communities.
A demonstration by a State Police dog search and rescue team is planned, and they won't be the only canines there with Cape May Carriage company bringing a small group of dalmatian puppies for children to meet, greet and pet in a supervised area.
Youngsters will also enjoy the chance to visit ambassadors from the Funny Farm, an animal rescue sanctuary that provides a home for farm and zoo animals. Among those making a guest appearance will be Farley the Farm Manager, a Border Collie; Tucker, a German Shepherd with Megaesophagus; Adele, the Diva Chicken; Happy, a new baby chick; Booger, a baby goose; Taz, a kitten along with other kittens and an anonymous baby pig.
