Pennsauken, NJ – May 6, 2019 –The Food Bank of South Jersey (FBSJ) has partnered with the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) and the United States Postal Good News 2Service (USPS) for Stamp Out Hunger®, the country’s largest single-day food drive, on Saturday, May 11.

Food insecurity affects nearly 200,000 South Jersey residents. Local residents can support the FBSJ and the Drive by simply setting a bag of non-perishable food items next to their mailboxes or on their porches for their local letter carrier to pick up and deliver to the local hunger-relief organization.

“This amazing drive truly shows how a community can come together and have a profound impact on their neighbors in need,” said Fred Wasiak, President and CEO, Food Bank of South Jersey. “Many people do not realize that food insecurity is so close to home. “Nearly 12 percent of the population we serve in our four-county area has limited access to food.”
