NJ WANTS TRUMP TO SCRAP PLANS TO DRILL IN ATLANTIC

This week, a 12-member congressional delegation representing New Jersey submitted a letter to the secretary of the U.S. Department of Interior, arguing that our state can’t afford to "put local economies at risk" in the interest of further gas and oil exploration. The letter asks the Trump administration to "permanently withdraw plans to drill along our Atlantic coastline." (NJ Spotlight)

JERSEY CITY FINALIZES FOUR-YEAR TEACHER CONTRACT

In a five-hour meeting in Jersey City on Monday, the school board ushered in a new contract for teachers. It also made deals with the supervisors union and non-certified employees — in total, about 75% of the district's employees are now covered. Sen. Pres. Steve Sweeney sharply criticized the deal as a "giveaway" that "will take money out of the classrooms." (Jersey Journal)

The average price varies from county to county: Somerset is the priciest, at $3.06 a gallon, whereas filling up in Camden County is the most affordable option, at $2.85 a gallon.
